Figma Motion vs Rive: Animating Along a Path
Both Figma Motion and Rive can move an object along an exact path, in very different ways. A new video and written guide comparing them with a leaf and a train, and when to use each.
Right after Figma Motion launched I compared it to Rive, and I completely missed one of the most useful things you can do in animation: moving an object along an exact path. A leaf in the wind, a train on a track.
So I rebuilt the same thing in both tools to see who actually does it better. It is not the clean answer you would expect.
